Hi, maybe someone can help me.
A friend of mine has to take a lot of drugs. Wouldn’t make it more sense to implant a drug pump under the skin? I am thankful for every answer.
All the best to you and a sonny weekend!

Hi Kerstyn,
No, a pump doesn’t replace the oral use of medicaments. This pump is a device of infusion which gives medicaments that can’t be taken orally automatically, in exact doses either under the skin (subcutaneously) or directly into the vein. A well-known example is the insu-lin pump. I often see that taking medicaments strains on people more than the disease itself which is treated.
If you have health problems which can be cured with medicaments, the pills are important and right. If you watch closely, you can see that each pill contains only one agent. If medicaments are combined that individu-ally, as in making a cake, it is normal that you have to take several pills. If all those agents would be packed into one pill, you wouldn’t have the feeling of taking soooo many pills, but you wouldn’t be adjusted as well as you would be by taking each agent separately.
So, dear Kerstin, try to understand and accept your me-dicament treatment. If you understand why you have to take those pills, you surely find it easier to cope with it.
Best wishes, Caren
