Hi there

I've found this article about a horse with a leg prosthesis: http://www.flickr.com/photos/smokeonit/3119427464/

I mean, it's really cute and touching but... Does it really make sense?! It's animal (dont get me wrong, i got a horse myself who i really, really love!) but as I know how hard it was to get used to the prosthesis and accept it and the amputation... I think that is too much for an animal.

What do you think?

Greetings

Have you seen this: http://www.doggon.com/dog_wheelchairs_rear_support.html

I mean it's fine for a horse, dont ask me why, but it feels really stupid to force a dog into a wheelchair. they look happy though...

Naw, i dont know. i reckon thats just gonzo.
(and now, all the petlovers here are going to kill me! icon_biggrin.gif)

Have you read the story?
That horse (and her owner) is something special. They might not do it for every horse. but molly was obviously able to cope with that.
It's a really touching story and i am glad for her and her owner.

Besides: either you give the animal some aid to lead a good life or you kill it. Imagine: a dog that cant run around! That would be really, really cruel..

Molly even became an ambassador for disabled children (here the full article: http://www.lsu.edu/highlights/2006/10/molly.html). that is a most wonderfull thing!
