I am traveling to Switzerland in the winter I travel with a diabetic alert dog. What are the laws regarding accessibility? Is there any place we can be refused service, Hotels, airbnb, restaurants or buses and trains? If we go into Germany are the laws the same?

Hello
thank you for your interest.

Unfortunately, Switzerland does not have very clear and strict regulations in this regard. Essentially, you must have a document that shows that you are entitled to a service/assistance dog. Usually, public transports cannot refuse the access on board, as long as the dog is wearing the vest that identifies him as a service dog, and you can present your document.

As regards hotels or other types of accommodation, this depends on each individual service provider, often based on their own - positive or negative - experience in this field.

I believe the situation is similar in Germany.

I hope this information is helpful to you, and I wish you a great journey to Switzerland, without too many obstacles.
If you have any more questions, do not hesitate to ask us again!

kind regards
Catherine
