Disabled. And now?

You are clueless, maybe also helpless and discouraged. You feel alone. You cannot share your anxieties, fears with anybody. The people in your environment cannot answer your questions.

Our Ambassadors have gone the same as you! They also have a disability and had to go though the same valleys, climb the same physically challenging mountains as you.

“With an amputation, so many questions arise which an already lower leg amputee like me might be able to answer. I want to support other affected people and be a help to them.” (Markus Brauchli)

So far, we offer this service only for Switzerland and Germany. However, if you wish to talk to an also affected person, we will try to find a suitable person for you locally or put you into email contact with one of our Ambassadors.

“The work as an Ambassador is for me an important contribution to the assistance of people who suddenly have to deal with a disability.” (Jva Marijana Goldstein)

The Ambassadors are people like you and me

The MyHandicap Ambassadors are no exceptional superstars. They are people like you and me. They have accepted their limitation and lead a self-determined and happy life. Additionally to these basic requirements, they have received intense training in psychological and communicative matters.

“I have lost my lower leg totally unexpected to illness in 2006. The friendship with a young woman with a similar fate gave me a lot of confidence in this difficult time and helped me to find my way in my new life. With my work as an Ambassador, I would like to bolster affected people so that they can look optimistically into future!”
